Akastroid measures and decides things about astrophotography data all day, for a paying consumer audience. Some of that is ready to license into a telescope or camera manufacturer's own app or firmware today; some of it is still being built. Both are on this page, labelled honestly as which is which.
Image Quality SDK
Real-time frame quality, licensed for your own app or firmware.
The same measurement engine that powers Akastroid's desktop app and runs live, in-browser, at akastroid.com/diagnostic - not a simplified rebuild for licensing, the actual code. On a single frame it reads star shape (FWHM, eccentricity, roundness), background gradient strength, clipping, signal-to-noise, hot/cold pixels and satellite or aircraft trails, in well under a second.
Who this is for: Smart telescope and camera companion apps that want to tell a user "this sub is good, keep it" or "this one's not - your tracking, not your optics" while they're still capturing, instead of finding out after the fact. Also useful post-sale: separating a real hardware fault from a tracking or environment problem is what turns a support ticket into a returned unit, or doesn't.
Already validated against real customer sessions, every day, in production - this isn't a lab result.
Target Recommendation Engine
What's actually worth pointing at tonight, not an alphabetical catalog.
Given a location, a date and what's already in the sky, this works out target altitude through the night, moon interference, and a sensible imaging order - the planning a competent imager already does in their head, done for someone who's never had to learn it.
Who this is for: Smart telescope companion apps and planetarium-style software that currently hand a user a static object list and leave the judgment call - is it high enough, is the moon going to wreck it - to them.
In active build now. Open to shaping the first version's scope around a specific launch partner's timeline rather than building it in a vacuum.
