Refund Policy

14 days, no argument

If Akastroid is not what you wanted, email hello@akastroid.com within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.

Fourteen for everyone, everywhere. UK and EU consumers have a statutory fourteen-day right to cancel a distance purchase, and rather than write a policy that gives some buyers less and then explains which ones, everybody gets the longer figure. It also means we never have to work out where you live to answer a refund request.

You do not have to explain why. You do not have to prove a fault. We may ask what went wrong, because it is useful to know, but the refund does not depend on your answer, and it does not depend on you accepting help first.

Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5 business days, and appear on your statement within 5-10 days after that depending on your bank.

Try it before you buy it

The point of a refund policy is to make buying safe. The better answer is to not need one: the free version at akastroid.com is not a countdown, and every feature works. It runs the whole pipeline on your own frames, on every subject the application offers. What it limits is how much: five processing runs, and the result exported from three sessions, before a licence is needed. Process a real session with it and you will know what Akastroid makes of your data before paying anything.

Astrophotography data varies enormously. A tool that transforms one person’s session can do little for another’s. Please try yours.

What happens to your licence

Your licence key stops working when the refund is issued, and you should remove the application.

Images you already produced remain yours. We claim nothing in them, before or after a refund. Nothing is revoked, nothing has to be taken down, and you owe no credit.

The monthly plan

The 14 days apply to your first payment on Pro Monthly too. After that you can cancel whenever you like and nothing more is charged: the plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for, and that month is not refunded in part. A renewal charged by mistake, for instance after you had cancelled, is refunded in full; write to hello@akastroid.com.

After 14 days

The 14-day window is a no-questions guarantee, not the limit of our responsibility. If the software is broken, we will fix it or refund you regardless of when you bought it (see clause 7 of the Licence Agreement and your statutory rights below).

We do not otherwise refund outside 14 days, including for:

• a change of mind;
• buying more licences than you needed;
• hardware that turned out to be too slow, where the requirements were published;
• a feature on the roadmap that has not shipped yet.

Upgrades

There are none to buy: every future version, 2.0 and later included, comes with the licence at no cost.

Your statutory rights

This policy sits on top of the rights the law gives you, and does not replace them.

• UK and EU consumers have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase. The guarantee above already matches it, so there is nothing to reconcile and no case where the law gives you more than this policy does.
• Australian consumers have guarantees under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, including remedies for goods that are not of acceptable quality.
• Wherever you are, nothing here limits a right that cannot be limited by law.

Chargebacks

If something has gone wrong, please email us first. We would rather refund you directly and quickly than have you spend weeks on a bank dispute. We have never refused a refund inside the window and do not intend to start.

How to ask

Email hello@akastroid.com with:

• the email address you bought with, or your order number;
• the word “refund”.

That is enough. We will confirm within one business day.
